SEPTA Trolleys

Posted by Wallyhorse on Fri May 13 20:18:08 2022, in response to Mass Transit Magazine: SEPTA Releases RFP For Trolley Vehicles., posted by William A. Padron on Fri May 13 20:02:15 2022.

This is big. The trolleys are still reliable but are 41 years old with the PCCs still in use older than that. Obviously, these will have to clear some of the tight corners in the underground portion.

If we ever saw the 23/45 ever return to trolley service, this would be how it would have to happen, once all construction on 11th and 12th streets that is or will be happening in the coming years is complete (and in this, with the 23 cut back to ending at 11th/Filbert and the 45 ending where it does now at 12th/Noble. The 45 could be done where it continues Southward as it does now to Broad/Oregon with new track and also inside the sports complex with a terminal at Citizens Bank Park trains on gamedays/other events can begin/end at.
