The Yard Master calls the moves.The Yard Crews make the moves which the Yard Master directs. When making yard moves, the crew doesn't know which cars are "inspections" or "holds" or upcoming inspection cars being put together onto the same consist or just building a train to go out on the road in service, or even for transfer to another yard. Main Shop transfer for instance. It is not the job for the crews to "know". It is their job to "do" Thanks, Bill from Maspeth |
