True,but That didn't kill the area.People of Color were living in South Jamaica for over one hundred years. When it really began development,the planned subway routes were all cancelled by the.city of NY. My family lived there since 1935,due to the promise of a subway line along 120th Ave. The subway Never came..but the house is still there, plus major renovations..the place is as good as the day it was built. My point is,there were a great deal of projects that were halted due to Bigotry. You Know it just like I do. Every project slated, Southeast Queens... Queens Super Express, Utica Ave ... Nostrand Ave Third ave.. Cancelled. And THAT'S just a few of them! |
