"Median busways" suggests to me that it's basically bus lanes in the middle of the street. If a buffer is installed, then it's basically like having a bus lane in each direction plus a little extra space for the buffer for separation (so cars can't get in). Thus, cars would still have the majority of the roadway to work with.I would just call them bus lanes rather than busways though. A busway in my mind means that there isn't a single car to compete with (like the ones in Pittsburgh). |
