Yeah, the R-44's were intended for all those new routes as proposed by the MTA in 1968, and including for the Second Avenue subway. Ironically today in 2021, the R-46's are running on the "Q" to/from 96th Street-2nd Avenue, and that fleet will be replaced in whole or in part by the R-211 contract. -William A. Padron ["SAS"]
