I was assigned to IRT schedules at the time the changes were proposed. the original plan was to have the 6s discharge passengers at 125 St and run light to the lower level of 86 St where the would change ends and run light back to 125 St where they would go in service. I contacted Gr Cent master tower which controls 125 St and found out that the signal system allowed trains on the S/B lcl tk in 125 St to run against traffic in the tube and return to the N/B lcl tk S/O 138 St. As a result, the schedules were written so that the N/B 6 shuttles would depart 125 St 5 min after the N/B 4s to give passengers walk time. |
