Don't be surprised if NYPD is replaced by an enlarged MTA Police Force, they patrol SIR, who is not responsible to the Mayor, but to the Governor.The only reason why NYPD forced a merger with Transit Police was to get at the money that NYCT was funding the Transit Police. NYPD didn't care about the Housing Police, but to make the take over of of the Transit Police look like a good idea, Housing Police was thrown into the merger. No one at a local NYPPD Station House wants the Housing assignment. Housing is just ignored until a 911 call is received. My bet is the MTA Police will take over policing the subways,, especially if Prince Andrew sees political mileage out of it. |
