Tuscarora Almanac – November 21, 1926 – The Book of First Runs

Norfolk & Western Railway

The Norfolk & Western Railway begins operation of Trains 3 and 4 “The Pocahontas”.
This will be a first class train providing service between Norfolk, Virginia and Cinncinati, Ohio.

This is the last day for the Flushing Avenue streetcar line (Rt.57). The cars had run out of the Fresh Pond Depot since 1937. The final run was made by Peter Witt 8408.

There was a major wreck on the Sea Beach Line at the portal leading to the 4th Avenue Subway. The following cars were badly damaged and subsequently scrapped; Standards 2631, 2768-69-70, 2866-67-68.
