Our routine on Saturday afternoons frequently included transferring at Union Square from those mean, ugly old BMT standards on the Lonesome Larry to the BMT Broadway line for a nice, brisk express sprint on an R-32 or on occasion, R-27/30, N train to 34th St., continuing on to Times Square. The thing I remember most is how those Larry trains would EMPTY at Union Square. People just poured out. |
