There was some documentation but I just cant recall where I saw it. Something alluding to the truth of that may be seen in the photos that exist of the Bluebird operating on the 4 Av Lcl. Even prior to unification, the handwriting was on the wall concerning the eventual demolition of the Fulton St el since the IND Fulton St Line was snaking its way east directly under the el. With that in mind, the BMT probably figured that with the ultimate demise of the Fulton and its replacement by the city subway, it would be best to concentrate on the lines that would most likely remain. At that point, if Fulton were gone, the only completely self contained els would be Myrtle, Lex and 5 Av and 5 Av was probably on life support at that point since it had already been rendered redundant by the BMT’s own 4 Av subway and the remaining els could not accommodate 10 ft wide cars anyhow.
