Jamaica and Lefferts were supposed to remain on their respective avenues to some point a bit farther east of 168 st where they were supposed to somehow meet in a large Jamaica terminal although I don’t have any details about how this was supposed to be accomplished. Liberty Av comes very close to Jamaica Ave around 176 St so it’s possible that some sort of a Park Row like terminal might have been built there to serve both lines.Never heard that but it would have been amazing. I wonder how much real estate development in those areas was inspired by subway lines extending, or even worse, real estate companies not wanting subway service. |
