David Stockman, OMB Director, was pushing him.When Stockman was in the House, he requested a Grand Rapids train. Amtrak said no. So he went on a warpath. Eventually Amtrak got some 403b funding from Michigan, but everyone waited until Stockman resigned OMB around 1986 to start service. |
