Re:WHYY Article They further quote Scott Sauer as saying PennDOT will be replacing a bridge on Girard Ave over the CSX tracks near I-76 that will take 12-18 mos. This is in addition to the overhead I-95 work on Frankford Ave. Further they reported that only 4 of the 18 PCC II cars (22%) can pass internal inspection citing rust problems. I thought Brookville took care of the rust during rebuild. Maybe just the Phila. winters and the copious salt used on Girard Ave. have reeked havoc on the rebuilt cars. Brookville did a nice job on these cars. They should last more than 15 or so years. |
