Even then, who builds rail equipment for a 15 year lifespan? That's what you expect from a bus.Maybe SEPTA was thinking ahead for when the K cars would be replaced and order new equipment for the #15. Just like the GOH program on the NYCT when the R 26-36's were GOH'd. Extend their lifespan before the new tech trains would replace them. Bill Newkirk |
