Not only does Mineola suffer, but the Oyster Bar Branch will continue to be a stepchild. Any hopes for some more short-turn MU trains to East Williston are now off the table.Concrete pillars and structure like at Valley Stream - Rockville Centre also tend to crack and become maintenance headaches. RVC was built in 1953, but the structure and platform were falling apart in the late 1970's. Now it is falling apart again. Tom Suozzi was Floral Park mayor and lead the NIMBY effort. He was trying to get every shack in the way declared historic landmark. Now he is a Congressman. How much roll did he play behind the scenes in getting Andrew chickening out to NIMBY's ? |
