Not necessarily the tube itself, but rather the relocation of certain underwater electrical and communications cables that when finished would not clear straight sided cars. far be it from the cesspool of incompetence that passes for NYCTA engineering to specify that the tunnel clearances accommodate cars still in service that have the most restrictive dimensions.
