I believe the platforms would be widened to the express tracks so that express trains can stop there. It is the current local tracks in the station that will become unused.If you look at the tunnel construction, the girders between the local and express tracks have been placed at the same wide separation as the platform girders, as the IND planners anticipated this becoming an express stop one day. |
