The SDP40F's had a habit of derailing so they didn't have much of a choice.The P30's were poor performers. They were leased to SP for SF based commuter service. Many F40's (the engines that saved Amtrak IMO) lasted more than 25 years. But 25 years is a good run for a diesel. |
