Hopefully there's some food places close once I arrive. I'm thinking left side of train for river views on way up. If your thinking of some nice food places I would suggest getting off at Cold Spring. There are several food places within easy walking distance of the station including "Hudson Hills" which has some intersting dishes. The is a restaurant located in the former train depot. It worthwhile checking out but the service leaves something to be desired. The staff is friendly enough but the server tends to dissapear into the mountains after she takes your oder. (I speak from experience). Cold Spring is situated in between two mountains and one can sit on the pier and enjoy the view. Beacon has some good restaurants including Brothers Trattoria and the Yankee Clipper. However there are no food establishments anywhere near the station. They all require a long walk uphill.
