re: all the original porcelain signs were removed and disposed of.

Yet another sad instance of the MTA trashing its own history.

Several of these signs could have been mounted somewhere on the revenue platforms or in the fare control area as heritage exhibits.

Or, the remainder of these original signs could have been offered for sale by the Transit Museum towards its operating costs.
