That's funny because back in the 1980s many people took various buses to the F train stations to avoid the Brighton and Sea Beach lines. The F had the best always-air-condtioned equipment and wasn't bogged down by having to pass through Dekalb Avenue or use the Manhattan Bridge during it's endless reconstruction.

Even in the 1970s the F always received the newest equipment for operational and political reasons. Generally graffiti-free too.
