I bought a 4 outlet 12v DC receptacle for my car last November. One of the 4 was intended for a cigarette lighter. I never used that one just the other 3 ports for dash cam and GPS.Last week, it blew a 5amp fuse, and I smelled something burning, with a sizzle sound. I took it out and took it apart. The cigarette port was corroded with the ceramic insulation rotted through. It had shorted out. I had bought it at Amazon cheap, made in China of course. I just bought another at the local parts retailer, much better quality, no port intended for cigarette lighter. |
