The fresh food perspective from where I live (SF Bay Area) is a little different. Most of my veggies, fruits, dairy, are from red areas of the west coast--CA Central Valley, eastern Oregon, Washington. The chickens are from maybe 60-70 miles N of me, and other items (NZ lamb, bananas have no connection to the midwest or the "ex" Confederacy. The best corn avaiilable out here is grown in state. So, what am I missing? Corn fed midwest beef--trash, grass fed local is better. |
