If my grandfather had lived (died in 1965), wonder if he would have worked the QJ. He actually started in the SOuthern Division, then later transferred to the Eastern (his last assignment was the 15). Might have been like coming home for him (he enjoyed eating at Natahan's also). OTOH, QJ was a looooonnng-ass run, and he would have been close to 60 by then, maybe he would have wanted something shorter. |
