That exactly what they should do, but LIRR is psychologically opposed, has been for 30 years, seems more enthused with electrifying the staion-less Central Branch, and enjoys being just the Manhattan & Ronkonkoma Railroad Company.As far as the Central Branch goes, there doesn't seem to much room for any stations let alone parking fields for commuters. And don't mention to local residents eminent domain as a means of securing land for a station and parking field, they'll shout so loud, you'll hear them in Jersey. Bill Newkirk |
