I wonder if Cuomo is doing this thinking ahead to a 2020 Presidential run. He may think by speeding up the process or doing it another way, it will help him get votes if he does run.Cuomo should remember it took 14 months to rebuild the Montague tunnel. I also would not be shocked if Cuomo orders the (L) remain running in Manhattan during the shutdown to appease some fearful of additional people driving from the lower east side and others adding onto potential traffic nightmares. As I've noted before, if that had to be done, I'd be looking at having eight four-car train sets with a maximum of three sets in use at any one time for such a service. There would just have to be some work-arounds in place if that had to be done. |
