1500' is how far I have to walk from a typical spot in my assigned parking lot to my office building. Even in today's below-freezing snowy/icy mess it wasn't that bad. I'm sure Amazonians will be ok.
A certain major search engine's office has the 24 hour entrance on 9th ave despite having direct access to the IND station on 8th ave.

That said, the storefronts along the walkways between the station entrances and Amazon will have insane rents, everyone wants to be the Starbucks/Dunkin/Hipster-coffe-shop along the way thousands of 6 figure young folk will be walking along each morning... and correspondingly a bar for the evenings.
