Drawbridge is gone now....construction finally almost done in that area.. but keep in mind that we are really talking about decisions that were made a lifetime ago, both Nassau County and many areas of NYC were very different. A much lower percentage of the population had cars in that era, particularly working class. Much more classist in that era than racist, but that was also before so many people moved East from the city to populate Nassau County. |
