P.S. I think the absolute minimum would be 90 degrees as 89 would be a *decreasing* radius and therefore nonfeasible...

There's a difference between curve radius and the angle the curve goes through. Curve radius is about how tight the curve is. For instance, at a curve radius of 90', you travel about 141'4½" to go around 90°. At a curve radius of 45', you travel about 70'8¼" to go around 90°.
