I can see a safety reason for not wearing articles of clothing that might be hazardous under certain conditions that might exist in a specialized school, but my school was strictly academic so there were no dangerous circumstances. Actually Bkln Tech could have allowed ties but made sure that they had to be removed in areas where they might prove to be a safety hazard.
