MN Conductors, Ticket sellers and other customer service reps were required to wear ties on duty as part of their uniform. But the ties had to be clip on for safety reasons. If a customer was irate enough to esclate his/her disappointment to the level of physical confrontation, it usually started with an attempted yank at the tie.Many a customer over the years were frustrated in addition to angry, inasmuch they were now beyond pissed that the fruits of their reaction was just a clip on tie. You'd often get it back when the anger management challenged would just fling it on the ground & storm away. |
