Wonderful!!! But they don't show what motive power pushed these cars through the streets- I assume a small steam locomotive?
Also, once they descended the ramp, how did they stop? Was it possible to charge and operate the emergency brakes, even with no power? Finally, how many cars were delivered in this manner?
I'm most appreciative of whatever additional info you can supply.


I see a winch attached to the front of #2700 at the top of the ramp. I don't know how the cars made it down the ramp and stopped. Don't forget, this was the only opening of the new subway to bring any equipment down there. Other than that, that's the most I know.
