I see a winch attached to the front of #2700 at the top of the ramp. I don't know how the cars made it down the ramp and stopped. The cars came from Coney Island via the SBK to Parkville Junction and thence over the LIRR to the Bushwick Yard. A small steam locomotive was then used to bring them to the 14th Street Line. They were then lowered down the ramp via a truck motor and block and tackle. The grade was 16.9 %. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
