The headways established for the Jerome thru exp doomed the service to failure since it offered no incentive for passengers at the exp stations to wait for a thru exp when a regular all stop exp would actually get them downtown sooner. Maybe if alternate Jerome trains operated as thru expresses like the original Wh Pl Rd thru exps in the 1950s, it might have proven useful. |
