Thought the Lackawanna and NEC power systems were incomparable at that time (1977), until NJT rehabbed the M&E line back in the late 90s... Lou: That is correct. When the Arrow III's arrived they could not run on the DL&W electric system. They were instead placed in service on the Northeast Corridor Line. This permitted the Arrow I cars to be withdrawn for re-building. The upgrading of the M& E lines was finished by Labor Day, 1984 at which time the Arrow III began service there. Larry, RedbirdR33 |
