Re: [PHOTOS] CTA ''Spam Cans'' On the P & W

Bill: Seven two car sets of CTA 6000 series cars were placed in service on the Norristown beginning sometime in the late 1980's (date needed). They were joined by five Market- Frankford cars in 1990.

The ex-CTA cars were numbered 476-489. The Market-Frankford cars although retroactively referred to as M-3's actually belong to PTC Class A-49. This meant that they were double ended single units. The car numbers were 601, 602, 605, 609 and 619. 601 was named "Columbia" and 605 was named "Enterprise".

They remained in service until 1994 when enough n-5's had arrived to cover the service.
