In all my time living in Wash Hts, The only time I ever saw “Bway Thru Exp” displayed was prior to the west side changes of 1959 when select Bway expresses operated as thru expresses between 96 St and 137 St bypassing the intermediate stations and that was discontinued by the time the Bway exp was 100% R types. The trains that ran the pseudo exp service N/O 137 St carried the side signs “Local-Exp” the same as the Pelham expresses at the time. |
