Re that 1983 centennial bus parade - this was one year before 4789 was rebranded as "2969" and masqueraded as "the Jackie Gleason bus" (the actual such bus was retired and scrapped around 1967 after the A/C batwinged Fishbowls arrived on OA and TA properties). I was at a "Honeymooners" convention at the C.W. Post campus in Greenvale, LI in 1984, and the ersatz "2969" was already making the rounds even then. |
