I don't recall exactly how wide 38th and 39th Sts are, but I think a big bridge for holding 2 railroad tracks and 2 other levels of traffic would barely fit. Once you then try to squeeze in a sizeable station, then you get the property acquisition. Even if it's a pass-through station you still need to handle the people and luggage involved, which could mean something like Newark Penn, at least. |
