So the only building that now stands in the way would be the Javits Center. Or maybe the thing is supposed to pass above the Javits? And trains would stop only to drop off and pick up passengers, then proceed to Queens or New Jersey, so there would not be a need for many tracks. How the tracks would connect on either end isn't clear, the map shows only the road connections to the LIE and NJ 495, but the Queens end is right by the LIRR/NEC. It is still an absolutely absurd fantasy, but the need to take property is not one of its problems. |
