Bridge right up to the shore, then tunnel under the towns until meeting I495. The people of Nassau have no ability to affect the part over the water.The bridge doesn't even need to be that wide - 2 lanes each direction, with shoulders on each side that could be taken for expansion in a pinch. About as wide as one span of the new Tappan Zee. |
