The phase 4 section should have been built along with phase one.As an extension of the 6th ave subway to lower Manhattan, the line would use Water St and connect with both Cranberry and Montague tubes. The Nassau St line could be redirected via a new rail connection from uptown via the lower east side, while Jamaica line trains uptown via Chrystie St and 8th ave. A new LRT surface line could use part of the Centre St loop/Nassau St route to replace rerouted J line trains. |
