Well, as much as I would love to see see a subway or Any type of rail TO Staten Island, Im sure you know the reason why none exist.Every single proposal was met with objection and disdain from residents who believed the subway would bring with it riff Raff... Conveniently forgetting the riff Raff was already there in the form of Nimbys. While Queens is guilty of this also, northern Bronx actually wanted more subways, and got more highways instead, thanks to Robert Moses. Brooklyn had a dense system of rail lines that were destroyed without replacement to this very day. It would take billions of dollars to replac,plus the much needed IND lines that were proposed. |
