Experience is no substitute for knowledge, and you have shown yourself to be devoid of the latter.I haven’t driven a car without auto-headlights since 2007, so I almost never turn the headlights on or off, but when I do turn them off, one way I notice them off (since it’s not a habit like it used to be), is that the instrument panel is unusually bright. This has been true in rented cars and borrowed cars also. So it’s quite clear that you were wrong about instrument panels being unreadable when the headlights are off. No wonder R2D2 thinks you’re bingbong. |
