Didn’t some of those “electric ferries” go to the Bkln - SI ferry service? Randy: It was the other way around. The Electric Ferries Company took over operation of the Brooklyn (69th St) - Staten Island Ferry in 1939. They ordered seven new boats which were built between 1940 and 1947. As these boats arrived the older vessels were displaced to other services. You might remember some of their names; E.G.DIEFENBACH, HAMILTON, GOTHAM, HUDSON, ST.GEORGE, THE NARROWS and THE TIDES.
