The description of the track worker costume should probably say "authentic-looking" rather than "authentic". I'm sure it is distinguishable from the real employee garb, and not just by the size. Other than that one quibble, I see no problems with this gear. It's obviously not meant to encourage kids to actually try to drive trains or to work on actual tracks. Lots of kids pretend they are driving the trains; I know I used to. I even used to pull up on (not rotate) the handle of the actual hand brake when pretending to stop the train. (One time I did turn it exactly one notch of the gear. Luckily, there was someone knowledgeable sitting there who warned me not to do that, and why. I never did that again.) |
