Especially given the rates that the firms would charge the government.And I wasn't talking about the the trainset. But since we are now, I can't stand the name "Avelia Liberty" name either; sounds like the name of a cheap automobile built in an obscure "developing" or former eastern bloc country. The images look suspiciously like the TGV anyhow, since they have those articulated trucks joining the cars. BTW, does this image seem to depict trapdoors to you? I'd sure like to see that on the new trains; it'd mean that it could use the low platforms at Washington Union Station, and possibly be used elsewhere in the country that might be electrified and upgraded for high speed.  |
