But all they do is display a series of TA safety propaganda ads, but no train times. S79 FAKE SBS Buses should have come at 8:39 and 8:51. I arrived at 8:34. Two buses come at 8:48, and one stays beyond the other all the way to 87th & 4th (stop at 86th Street is under street construction) . No leapfrogging of buses. So one was 8 minutes late, the other 4 minutes early. Passengers split themselves at each stop between the 2 buses. Hylan Blvd is a linear parking lot in the OldTown Road area. R: Countdown clocks are functionally useless. There is a constant display of the 2 96th Street bound trains (in 12 and 14 minutes when I got there). Forest Hills train only displayed once that train is in the station and flashes in 0 minutes. Weekender description text is as always deliberately evasive, deceptive, and incomplete. With no reason given, It says trains will run express to Atlantic Av. It does NOT say the service runs every 12 minutes, instead of every 10, and will take a 6 minute hit from the normal local service crawling through work zones almost the entire way at 15MPH. I assume N and D trains are similarly affected, even moreso, since they are timed as expresses, are express, yet will have to crawl just like the R train and cannot make even a local schedule. |
