When they decided on putting a concourse (any type of open air concourse) beneath it, a different type of structure was needed to carry the IRT through.That doesn't fit. Before 9/11, that's how it was before - the concourse for PATH went under the #1 tunnel. That's about where the big bank of deep escalators were. |
