First of all you can forget that round robin nonsense. People in Rockaway fought too long and too hard to get rid of it.There's also a reason why the C Train no longer runs out here-because the people out here fought long and hard to get rid of that as well. Now I understand a lot of comments that I've read such as restoring the Round Robin or having the C back to Rockaway Park is "fun" from a railfan point of view or from someone who doesn't live out here, but let me tell you as a resident there is nothing cute nor fun working all night only to have to make every stop in Manhattan and Brooklyn only to have transfer to another train just for it to make all stops to the other side of the island first then make all stops to your side of the island. There's nothing cute about having to be on a train at 3:00 am just for it to travel to the other side of Rockaway before it gets to Brooklyn then change for a local which makes all stops through Brooklyn and Manhattan to get to work at 5:00 am. If you were subjected to this 5 to 7 nights a week, you would feel the same way the residents and people who work in Rockaway feel. |
